  • Addictive behaviours are described as "Any activity, substance, object, or behaviour that has become the major focus of a person's life to the exclusion of other activities, or that has begun to harm the individual or others physically, mentally, or socially is considered an addictive behaviour."

Many of us might think of smoking, alcohol and drugs as common addictions, but any activity you do in excess or rely on to fill an emotional void is an addiction. This includes addiction to work.

Addictive behaviours can be incredibly challenging to overcome, and they can significantly impact our physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Fortunately, hypnosis can be an effective tool for addressing these issues and helping individuals break free from their addictive behaviours.

You are not alone if you have tried to stop smoking, taking drugs or drinking. And often, previous attempts have failed because the root cause of these behaviours has not been identified or dealt with.

In the case of addiction, hypnosis can help individuals overcome the underlying emotional and psychological factors that contribute to addictive behaviours. Through guided visualization and relaxation techniques, a certified hypnotist can help clients identify and address the root causes of their addictive behaviours, such as stress, anxiety, or trauma.

In addition, hypnosis can help individuals develop new, healthier habits and coping strategies that can help them break free from addictive behaviours and maintain long-term recovery. For example, a hypnotist can help individuals reframe negative thought patterns and associations related to their addictive behaviours and help them develop positive self-talk and visualization techniques to support their recovery.

Hypnosis can be particularly effective in addressing deep-seated emotional issues contributing to addictive behaviours. By helping clients identify and address these issues, a hypnotist can help individuals overcome their addictions and achieve greater emotional and mental well-being.

For example, in the case of imposter syndrome, a hypnotist can help clients uncover and challenge any negative self-talk or limiting beliefs that may be holding them back. By working to reframe these negative thought patterns and develop a more positive self-image, individuals can begin to feel more confident and capable in their professional and personal lives.
